Hello,

Just wondering if anyone here has any idea where I can find a transcription of Django's 1947 solo on Dark Eyes. I thought it would be easy to find since it's so famous, but so far no luck.

Thanks in advance,
Chip

Denis Chang had one posted on his web site some time back, but his transcriptions were gone last time I looked. You might send Denis an e-mail or a PM and see if he'll send it to you.
I've never been a guitar player, but I've played one on stage.

Is this it, in the Transcriptions section of this site?

Thanks Charlie, I think it is the 1947 solo. Do you know if there are any versions that exist in notation? Maybe I can message Dennis too about it, thanks for that idea Michael.

    Hi

Here is the end of the transcription that was published in French Guitar (unfortunately I don't have the first part). So you'll have to buy from Michael Horowitz anyway.

I'm surprised to see those octave fingerings...does anyone play this passage with those four string wide shapes? I've always just used the more common (to me) three string shape.

    best,
    Jack.

i believe i have a computerized tablature version of both versions of Djangos dark eyes solos, including the 1947 version your asking for. my friend "lmentry" probably has it also.

I think that this is the one that you are looking for:

I have no idea of how accurate it is but it should give you the general idea.

    That link was found here:

    Hey Charlie,

I can't get any of those transcriptions on this site (http://www.djangoswing.de.tl/) to show up. It says there is an error on the page or something like that. Is there some trick to making it work?

    Thanks
