Are the intro chords for Honeysuckle Rose basic correct (p192)? I'm wondering if the first 2 chords shouldn't be a G and a C (rather than Ab and Db).

Those are the correct chords...that's what they're actually playing! Although most people cheat and play Db7, C7, F.

The original changes for the into were much cooler! :D

While trying out Michael's chords, I came up with the following variant:

    5 4 3
    5 4 3
    5 4 2
    4 3 3

    OR

    5 4 3
    5 4 3
    5 4 2
    4 3 2

Call them whatever you like, as there are numerous possibilities.

While perhaps "inauthentic" to the original, they sound pretty good (IMHO) and, to my ear, pretty close in feel. Also, eliminating the two bass strings gives an overall very light and airy sound, a nice contrast to the full rhythm chord when it comes in.
