Soundhole pickup for Oval Hole - anyone using?

Is anyone using a soundhole pickup like a single coil, humbucker or seymour duncan woody for their oval hole? I would like to, but there is only 1/2 inch clearance max under the strings and a normal pickup is too wide to snap into the narrow sound hole. I suppose I could put the pickup in the soundhole facing up and attached with velcro or something. Anyone try that?
Piezos and tranducers sound awful in my guitar (tried shertler basik and K&K) and Im worried about feedback with a microphone because half of my gigs require some pretty large volume.

We do large indoor and outdoor venues with no feed back problems...
Got a great sound man though! Even when we play clubs our guitars are loud over the noise with our system...
I am sold on the Rode NT3... (Phantom or 48V)

You can work it where as a sound hole mic like a Shure Beta 98 are tough for me in my opinion. I know a lot of players like them though.
I have used it through my old Polytone with a line transformer with fantastic results with out a PA...
Mic placement is everything!

Robin put his in a China Dell"Artre...
The truss rod extends to far to put the Humbucker any closer to the finger board. Hence blocking the sound hole...
The Gitane will allow you to get closer after removing the last fret of the finger board...

Go with a Rode NT3 In my opinion if you have a good PA...
BigTone or similar through your amp if no monitors...
