G minor blues head?

Hi all,

I'm teaching Michael's G minor blues solo to one of my students for them to play for a performance exam. I'd like them to play a head (melody) before the solo.

I’m fairly new to the Gypsy Jazz thing; can anyone suggest a minor blues from Django's repertoire or something stylistically correct from someone else?

The 48 version is one of the classics. See: Integrale Vol. 16

The head is the one that most people play. It has the killer C minor triplet run....

    Good luck!

    Mark,

At the end of the Michael's book (just after Minor Blues Solo) there is a section of recomended versions of Django solos with exact references where to find them (most references on Django Integrale). ;-)

Also the head you are looking for is on Robin Nolan Play Along Songbooks Vol. 2 CD

    Good luck!
