Hi,
I'm practicing gypsy picking now for a while and i wonder if i'm in the good way...
I'm holding the pick like this: http://cjoint.com/?jstv4O4p0a
http://cjoint.com/?jstBhcWcy6 and http://cjoint.com/?jstBKN8bES

So my index is exceed the pick is that bad?
Tell me about please.
The sound is good and know i feel completly relax with that position and i increase my speed on and on and on...
Thanks.[/img]

Looks perfect to me! I'd have to see you in action, but from what I can tell from your photos you're doing really well.

    Keep up the good work!

so, that bird's-eye view of the pick pointing inward (towards the bridge) is the way to do it? i was doing it like that for a while and now i point it towards the neck (and the pick is now perpendicular to my index finger [the part between the tip and the joint]) . which, if there is any, is the correct direction? thanks.

Yes...that's correct. If you have a beveled pick I'd imagine it would be hard to do any other way.

    :D Hi,
    thanks for your answer michael!
I'm gonna put a video on line as soon as possible so you can tell me more.
But are sure that this position (the index hit the string some times and the index exceed the pick very much) is right?
Thanks for your book and when the gypsy rythm will came out?

It's totally normal for your index finger to scrape against the strings....don't worry. You'll get callouses!

it's pretty hard to see exactly what your doing...your hand looks mostly like a blurry black blob. But from what I can see it looks perfect...nice big motions and very relaxed. Your phrasing sounds good too....so that's a good sign that you're playing correctly.

    Keep up the good work!
