buying pickup for cheap gypsy guitar

hi guys

I wonder if it makes sense to buy pickup for really cheap gypsy guitar like Cigano DJ 10 for instance. I wonder if quality of Cigano is good enough to create good sounding team together with good pickup. What do you think guys?

Yes, a pickup really expands your horizons on any acoustic guitar. There are a number of ways to go and some of the best are right here at Django Books at good prices. I use the Schertler Basik, which has a nice natural tone and is easy to stick on and remove with the putty it comes with (nice on my uke, archtop and little Martin too). Fairly feedack resistant. The Stimer styles are also very cool for a hotter sound. I'm tempted by the Krivo humbucker (stick on and should be low noise) though the Stimer tone sounds fantastic IMHO. Best of luck.
