Intros & Outros: Beginning and ending the tune, traditional or not.
Hans'che Weiss and Titi Winterstein have one of the best intros I've heard for Minor Swing, from the album Dja Maro Drom (see below). Album info here:

Man!!!!!!! I have to say this rhythm section is mighty as well.
Thanks Jack

[Hi
Just to correct first Am6 form that you suggested bellow. It should be
8
7
9
7
-
-

Also I have one more suggestion.Would you please write exactly voicings(chord inversions) that you wrote as chord symbols. In my opinion that's what together with la pompe rhythm distinguish Gypsy rhythm guitar sound from other swing styles.
quote="Jack"]Some shapes a second guitar might use for tremelo fills and the like:

Am:

-6---
-5---
-7---
-5---
-----
-----

-----
-12-
-11-
-10-
-----
-----

-----
-10--
-9---
-10--
-----
-----

-12--
-13--
-14--
-----
-----
-----

Most of the above you can just transpose for Dm...
Then, E7:

-4----(also movable in 3 fret intervals as a diminished voicing)
-3----
-4----
-----
-----
-----

-10-
-9---
-9---
-9---
-----
-----

-7---
-7---
-7---
-6---
-----
-----

-----
-15--
-13--
-14--
-----
-----

I'm sure this is basic stuff for a lot of you, but I thought it would be good to start small, as it were. If any of it's new to you, experiment with it-I hope it helps, and let me know if anything's not clear...

Best,
Jack.
Like this, you mean? I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're asking for...
Some shapes a second guitar might use for tremelo fills and the like:

Am:

-6---
-5---
-7---
-5---
-----
-----(move up a step for Am6)

-----
-12-
-11-
-10-
-----
-----(Am6|9/C)

-----
-10--
-9---
-10--
-----
-----(Am/C)

-12--
-13--
-14--
-----
-----
-----(Am)
Let me know if that helps (or doesn't!)

Best,
Jack.

Thanks Jack. That's what I mean and also for the chart at the begining. For
each measure exactly voicing (not symbol) because on that way we can
see and discuss voice leading or reharmonization.
Thanks

Hi, Tom.

Out of curiousity, how did you find your list (maybe you can rejuvenate the Lulu Swing thread the same way...it seems to have died an early death)? For me, the one I posted above still ranks high on the list, but there are so many great takes...

Best,
Jack.

Joseph Reinhardt's version is short and great:

Hi Jack,

Unfortunately the original poster only compiled a list for Minor Swing.
By the way, I enjoyed your presentation of Lulu Swing. Thanks for reminding me about that tune. Keep 'em coming!

Cheers,
Tom

You may not like Grisman (I think he is fantastic, but I'm a mandolin player of course) but he has two excellent versions of Minor Swing : one on "Hot Dawg" and the other on "Svinging with Svend" which as you might guess features Svend Asmussen on violin (and is only available as a cassette of all things)

Hi,

My favourite:
The Rosenberg Trio / Live At The North Sea Jazz Festival

This tune was my first tune of a "modern" Django and from that point I started to inform myself about Gipsy Jazz
