Video: testing my new Eimers through the Stimer

I just did a video testing my brand new Eimers Antique through the Stimer. The amp is a simple Roland Cube because that's all I've got for the time being. However, I was able to get a pretty good sound I think. Nothing like the warmth of a real tube amp of course.

So it is possible to get a half decent sound with a mediocre amp, at least satisfactory for practice at home IMO.

Real nice playing. As an interim step, or if you're on a budget, you could get a whole lot closer to the peche a la mouche sound using a real valve distortion pedal/preamp. As you say, set the boost quite low and maybe roll off a bit of the top end, and you get some of that 'break-up' of the sound that characterises early valve amps. Solid state distortion is always too toppy.

My old warhorse is a Dean Markely Overlord I got in the 80s. They're still out there!
