  Is there a way to tell the year from the serial number? looks like 9848 or 0848 not sure .
  It has a pretty unique voice, but needs some setup. there is some buzz and strings are not that low: it is at 8/64 at 12 fret on both treble and bass sides.

  Lace Sensor Ultra slim model. It will fit any gypsy guitar with small clearance. They are humbuckers so no unwanted noise and great sound.
  And they sound better than what people usually use. Just remove the
  double-face tape under the pickup and use "blue potty". It wont harm
  the guitar finish. Djangobooks sell those pickups.

  I was looking at lace sensor, but it says 8mm height. My guitar has 9,5 mm clearance so i am afraid it might not be enough?

  I wonder if a Seymour Duncan mag mic pickup would fit? Can always turn mic off.

  I am using regular Argentine. I really prefer these Lance sensor than the
  other magnetic pickups. No noise, double coil, better balanced and
  half the price. Actually, I just got rid of my 2 Stimer pickup.
  Of course if you want to get close to the Django's sound, a Stimer is the
  choice..
