I am selling my fine sounding archtop!
It's not in mint or collector condition as there are several well repaired and cleated cracks over the years.
It's a nice guitar in great shape with a loud and pleasing 30's archtop sound.
It has been French polished.
Original pickguard, Grover sta tite tuners, and 60's Epi frequencator tailpiece.
Includes the original Geib HSC!
Price is $2650 firm plus shipping.

Does being "French Polished" mean it has been refinished? Also is it the year that they had walnut back and sides? Thanks.

And is tyhis model made with the black walnut back and sides or maple? I have a 51 Broadway, and might be interested in one of the earlier ones made with walnut

Wow, that is a great looking Epi. I have a '46 Triumph which I use for big band swing, and I consider the Epiphones of that era to be at least as good, if not better than, comparable Gibsons.

It's rather sad that so many people do not know that Epiphone was not always the Gibson budget brand. Epiphone was in fact Gibson's biggest competitor in the 30s and 40s, only to fall victim to wartime privations and the death of the company's President Epaminondas Stathopoulo, son of the founder. His brothers were together not anywhere near the businessman that Epi was, and the company went under and was sold to Gibson in the 50s.

Whoever winds up with this guitar is buying a fabulous instrument and a wonderful piece of guitar history.

  • Benny you hit the nail on the head.

    Good luck with it.
