Dang, I'm proud to be in the GJ Top Ten, state wise that is. Yep, Maryland is indeed a hot bed of swing. I know maybe five or six of the 100, so it would be fun to meet and better yet, djam with the other 95. Email me, PM me, just do it!

Is there a way to get a list of the 100 Maryland members? When I go to the Memberlist and sort by location, I only come up with four.

BTW, we'd be even higher if it were for that "No Data" bunch in 4th place. SANDBAGGERS!

They're not necessarily members...they're just visitors to the site. Also, it's just keeping track of unique ip address. So it could be just one guy using 100 different computers!

I'm pretty sure that the location of users/computers is actually the ISP's proxy servers: I am in Connecticut but my connection point to you would show up as Albany, NY. I connect to the network (in my case Adelphia) and it routes me around, eventually to Albany and then the rest of the world. Physically, I am around two and a half hours drive from Albany whereas I am currently 89ms from DjangoBooks.com right now. Pretty amazing stuff!

That makes sense...however google does seem to have very detailed data about locations. Do you really think there's a proxy server in French Village Nova Scotia?

Well, if you asked me if there was any interest in Gypsy music in French Village, Nova Scotia, I'd have said "Where???" but, sure - there are proxies all over the world - I maintained one in Prospect, CT for six years and I knew of three others in that tiny burg... the bigger the network: the more dispearsed the facilities.
