I believe Michael sold it for $5100, Flaco. I could be wrong.
I think there comes a time when you know, in your guts, it's time for a luthier guitar. Making no pretense that it's necessary, it's just my experience. And for any luthier's guitar, one obviously decides if the money spent is worth the pleasure of owning and playing. It's the same with everything in life, yes? You can feel burned on a hot dog purchase and leave, happy, at a multi-course gustation?
"The woods are absolutely stunning, most notably the deliciously figured one piece Brazilian rosewood back."
Looks like a two piece book matched back to me.
Indeed it does, and it´s rather flatsawn in both wings of the lower bout. It turns better quartered in the middle - is it solid wood? if it is, really badly slab cut thin boards of brazilian rosewood means, to my knowledge, cracks waiting to happen. The owner of the guitar should treat it well and keep it in an humidity controlled environment.
Sorry for the nit-picking, but i alos found this statement: "an enlarged oval soundhole for improved bass response" - anyone care to comment?
don´t want to rain on this parade, though. the guitar is a real stunner! and if it sounds good and plays well, we´re all happy.
cheers,
miguel.

That was my response, and that was just a couple of photos. Unbelievable.

I had a hard time rolling my tongue back up to hear, but agreed - I didn't even hear it firsthand, like you, Michael. A marvelous instrument.
Jon, they sell for $5100. At least that's what I've seen.

Just my thoughts. Good luck in your journey.

Yes, you are correct. It does have a two piece back. The first Vieux Paris had a one piece back and I hadn't updated that detail. Sorry about that...
