Wow. Your forebears must have been lighter than mine. There's no way anyone could carry them more than a few feet.

Just re-reading some posts, looking for some practicals and came back here...guyys, sorry, I can be really spacey. Miles, I think I original mistook a "golf shoe bag" for a "Golf bag." I get it now.

And Jay, just got you made mention of a vintage suitcase (I must have missed this 1st paragraph on first read - again, ). That's actually something I was hoping to do, because I have one laying around somewhere, huge old Samsonite.

I was actually thinking of finding a suitable foam, and simply cutting holes in the foam to snugly fit my stuff, with all of it going in an old workhorse suitcase.

  • One of the cool 60's Samsonites? I still have mine and matching attache case. Built like the proverbial brick *********

What a great idea to go to the foam store and get a bunch of layers of foam and cut out for all the important gear.

Jay, yep, I think so. Kept since childhood, so the '60's make sense. Tan(nish), hugs, cumbersome - and built like a brick*****. :D

The only problem is that it's in storage up in the U.P. (that's the foreign country called the "Upper Peninsula" for those less in the know... :D ), but we're heading that way in a couple weeks. Just need to find the right foam somewhere in town.

Why don't do as Django, have your brother carry your stuff? ;-) :D

I have a bag that I bought at the Mesa Boogie amp shop on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood a couple of years ago. Here is a link:

    http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/ ... gBags.html

It has two pockets on the ends that are kind of vertical, that are great for holding my SM58 vocal mics in their pouches. Also good for coiled up cables.

Large side pocket is good for folders, papers, notepads, etc. I put my iPad in there (I use unRealBook for all my music).

There is a small side pouch with a couple of pockets that is good for strings, tuner, pics, tools, batteries, etc.

And the main large central pocket holds my ZT Lunchbox, power cord, power strip, and extension cord.

I can go to a small cafe gig or small club gig with just this bag and my guitar bag. Just add a bigger amp for a bigger gig, and with this bag over your shoulder, you can still get from car to club in one trip. There's an adjustable padded shoulder strap which is not shown in the picture. It's a great bag.

Schmokie, thanks very much. I ended up DIYing what I needed. In all seriousness, probably best for me to worry more about playing, and less about...well, everything else.

    Thanks again.
