Hey all,

I'm excited to announce Soundslice has partnered up with Gonzalo Bergara to release transcriptions for the entire "Portena Soledad" album!

Here's the link:

https://www.soundslice.com/pitch-perfec ... a-soledad/

We chose this album because a bunch of the songs have become modern-day standards ("Como Una Flor," "Elena's Bossa," "B-612"), and every song is fantastic. Lots of great licks and chord voicings -- and even the sax/clarinet solos are transcribed.

You can buy songs a la carte for $5, or the whole album for $25. When you buy, you get the high-quality transcription, verified by Gonzalo, in our beautiful interface that syncs the tab with the original recording. You can loop sections and slow it down without changing pitch, right in your browser (no downloads needed).

Last thing, but something I think is super important, is that Gonzalo gets a majority of the revenue -- so you're supporting the artist. You're also helping support Soundslice, which is a two-person project by yours truly and my web designer friend PJ.

Give it a look and let me know if you have any questions,
Adrian

    Adrain,

Thanks so much, IMHO your soundslice stuff is the absolute best transcription I seen. In particular since you've added the chord forms it's been extremely helpful. I would love to be a fly on the wall as they say to see the ins and outs of this great tool.

I've been wanting to be of some support to this project and have felt there was so much potential for it to be in the forefront of learning Gypsy Jazz, or any other style of music. Good to see this evolving with such a great Artist. Look forward to seeing who else recognizes it's potential, and gets onboard.

Count me in on the album and I look forward to the printing capabilities soon to come.

    Yeah !!

Like... five years now... I've been playing Como Una Flor wrong and never can seem to find the time to figure it out. One of the hardest things for me is fingering. I'm always in a different fretboard position on the wrong frets & using completely different strings and thinking: "Wait a sec... This is impossible - how would you even finger something like that?" Of course the answer is usually something like: "Move up 7 frets and start on the A string instead." but figuring that sort of thing out for every phrase... and then remembering - uggh.

This is much easier; not wasting time trying to figure out how to play something using an awkward fingering.

    Very cool. Very cool indeed.
You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.

    :D
    Best $25.00 I've spent.

If I just bought the album I'd spend $15.00 easy and now I see how to play it.

 that is with some wood-shedding.

    8) Sure am loving the half speed selection

Hey all, I just wanted to say that we've greatly improved these transcriptions today. There's now standard notation (sheet music) for each song, including the sax/clarinet/bandoneon parts, and there's a print feature.

The interface has been completely redesigned, too, to go up-down instead of left-right. This makes it much easier to follow along. You can see a preview here: http://www.soundslice.com/v2/portena-agridulce-demo/

Much more to come from Soundslice...working on some more Gonzalo transcriptions at the moment, and other fun stuff after that!
  • Nice work Adrian. I look a quick peak at work and this adds a new level of functionality to this already great site.
