  • Or you could be hospitable and take the couch while relinquishing the bedroom, especially if you're charging double!
You're such a string wizard I'd never presume to give you advice. I hear you on the rest stroke. Tough for me but makes such sense in terms of economy. All the downstrokes are weird too. Honestly, I'm really too undisciplined and lazy for practice and technical stuff so I just imitate as best I can!

I think you are better than you make out. Your band makes people smile, their happy dancing feet too. That's all that counts.

I realize these are just now coming after months/years of the original 14 fret model, However:

Any chance/information/possibility of a Grande Bouche, specifically a 12 fret short scale ?

Somewhere online I saw a picture of a Eastman Dhole Proto type but it was 14 fret. I’m sure that if the current models are successful ,that would probably be the next thing. Purely speculative, of course

The DM in the model name refers to Doug Martin, who had this to say on a jazz guitar forum: "The DM-2 is also oval hole (petit bouche). There are several ideas we are tossing around. Step by step though. We have to get the DM-1 and DM-2 models out in the world before we start seriously considering any new models. If people really like these guitars and want D hole versions or other variations, anything is possible."

Yes, they arrive at the port tomorrow! It will take a few weeks for them to clear customs, get to Eastman, and get setup. It's only a small batch (just about 8) and most of them are coming here :)

Well I would guess from the reputation of their archtops and reasonable pricing and the bad press Altamira have been getting recently (see other post on this forum; 'New Altamira just arrived - I'm curious') I can see the latter will take a beating in the budget guitar market.

A fun demo at home. Eastman DM1 and my 1998 Favino for reference.
