Thanks for posting. It was enjoyable, useful, and to the point regardless of what label it is given by the original poster or others. Please keep these up.
I agree. These types of videos are great and very useful. Can't wait to see all the upcoming videos and licks.
Hahaha this reminds me of my Coquette thread! I m not going there anymore. It s really just semantics, best to discuss among hardcore nerds only. As someone said , "pitch collection" might be the best expression but saying "Dorian" is easier so I understand why you would say that. It s like the term Gypsy Jazz. Django is not a gypsy jazz player but when i talk to the average person i usually still say gypsy jazz when referring to django :-)
The word Dorian has deeper implications than the actual pitch collections which is why some people objected to it but as jim noted it s just semantics and most people wouldn t understand or care to undertstand the deeper meanings of dorian (we can talk about it in dij!). I love the nerdy stuff though! The 1mn video is cool too. I wad surpised u managed to make it under one minute!
I have one tip/suggestion for you. When you add all these context links in the video description, you can modify them so it jumps directly to the point of interest.
Here is an example for Belleville, original link:

I add the query parameter "&t=42" to make the youtube link seek directly to time 0:42 seconds, where that tritone sub is found:

No. 3 in the series is up now: chromatic slide.
Neat to have the references for the tunes where Django employed each lick and backing tracks too
Now up to week 7 of this nifty 1-minute video series:
