50-50 mix DynG with Pro-70 and a little topend lift - just enough to remove some of that warmth - still pretty linear though.
Actually - carving out 200hz +/- would reduce some of that heavy chunky mid & give things a little more clean crunch - but you get where I'm going - it would be a really nice rhythm chop.
Would it sound good in a gig? Yes... if it was a quiet venue with good acoustics.
In the typical echoic pub with a bunch of squawking yuppie idiots sitting in at tables right front of the stage all simultaneously yelling at each other about drivel... you might want to pump the mids if for no other reason than to encourage them to find another place to sit... maybe that's my million dollar idea! an Amp with two settings 1.) Polite audience 2.) Impolite audience
You get one chance to enjoy this day, but if you're doing it right, that's enough.
Funny you came up with that combo...I just started using my Schertler basik in conjunction with my Audio Technica AT831B Mini Lavalier .Mounted on my Dell Arte Hommage.
I got a trace elliot TA60 CR which has a balance slider to control the 2 output channels to any percentage you would want.
I found that about 50/50 was actually a good blend , of course that will vary per room environment.
The result was ASTOUNDING......"The best" acoustic sound I have come across yet in the 3 plus years I have been searching.
I know Jason has been using a similar setup for awhile...but the schertler placement is critical...I'm finally starting to get a more consistant sound The more I play with it.
The trace elliot is also a fine amp.....I was lucky to find this one.
I'll let you try the setup next time we meet up....maybe the Saturday jam.
Bring your Shelly park...:)
That'd be cool - now I just have to figure out how to get to a Saturday jam. I've been out for the last 4 weeks and this coming Saturday is already looking perilous. I'm pretty close to vetoing all weekend plans so I can play and relax a little more. When more than a month goes by without going to a jam, then something is definitely wrong in Holoville.
