This is a great idea. I'd suggest a vote on any chord changes disagreements. Also, the original is pretty widely used. Maybe keep it as is. Add Blues en Mineur, Dinah, I Cant Give You etc to the new book with the more common keys. With both books you could modulate for a jam session arrangement. Is there a link for the other book mentioned [with the tabs etc]? Can someone devise an online form which could accept titles for consideration? I would if I could :^)
Great thread. I would imagine some tunes that are commonly called are regional, but in my area (Asheville NC), these tunes are often called, yet aren't in DFB:
DUKE & DUKIE
ELENA'S BOSSA
HOT LIPS
IN A SENTIMENTAL MOOD
JOJO SWING
MENILMONTANT
PAQUITO
And how cool is it that we all have access to the Django Fakebook?! I know it helped me immensely in my early days of learning this music & playing it with others. And it still benefits me regularly, all these years later.
My 2 cents - avoid adding any tunes that Django didn't actually play. I think it was kind of annoying that the other fakebook had a bunch of silly tunes that most people don't really care about, like Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead
And we still have almost a thousand tunes avail even if you stick to the "common ground" of Django's repertoire. If you'll add stuff that is commonly played in the style, like Mire Pral, Sunny. etc maybe you can call it the Gypsy Jazz Fakebook not Django Fakebook?
I see Wim Glen's points. Maybe the name could be changed to Gypsy Jazz Fakebook if it included tunes we all play that Django didn't. Also, no biggie, but The Man I Love is in the DFB, but it's titled Man I Love.

Si Tu Savais should be in Bm, not Cm, I think?

Good suggestions.
Ménilmontant should be in the 2008 book, but I have added the others to the spreadsheet.
Good catch--all the recordings I've found (Django, Bireli, etc.) are in Bm. Thanks.
Here are some others: [I don't think they were mentioned or in Book 1]
Besame Mucho
Mabel
Mire Pral
Reverie
Bernie's Tune
Cou Cou
Softly As in a Morning Sunrise
Fleur De Lavande
Memories of You
Around the World in 80 Days
Paramount Stomp
Porto Cabello
On the Sunny Side of the street
Just Squeeze Me
Sway
Fascinatin' Rhythm
April in Paris
I've Got The World on a String
Do You Know What it Means
Darktown Strutter's Ball
When You're Smiling
Perfidia
And a few more :^)
Blue Bossa
Sunny
Venez donc chez moi
Nature Boy
Begin the Beguine
My Yiddishe Momme
Man Of Mystery
Fate
Michelle
The Man I Love
Just A Gigolo
Bye Bye Blues
Dein ist mein ganzes Herz
Lullaby Of Birdland
Valse A Jesaja
Latcho Drom
Opus de Clignacourt by Romane?
Tchan-Tchou by Moreno
Adieu Latcheben by Koen De Cauter?
Valse Moustache" by Tcha Limberger
I Will Wait for You
[This works really well as a mid tempo hot club tune :^)]
Updated. See here:
