Good point. Since the goal is to provide lead sheets for the tunes we expect to hear at jams, maybe Gypsy Jazz Fakebook is the way to go.

I think I've even got an idea for the cover art 😉

Here's a consensus for Django originals to add

They aren't included in the other fake book:

    Souvenirs [by Django]

    Swing 41 [by Django]

    12th Year [by Django]

    Vette [by Django]

    Vamp [by Django]

This Kind of Friend [by Django]

That's a nice list. I think for This Kind of Friend you might have meant What Kind Of Friend

Thanks. One more list. These are tunes from Django's discography, not listed in the fake book or the spreadsheet. He doesn't necessarily play solos on them. [This Kind of Friend was recorded 8-25-47. Possibly the other title was used earlier.]

Thanks. I'll have to dig into this list.

    • black night = diminishing, and it's in the 2008 fakebook
    • ce soir... do you mean le soir?

    Le soir:

    Discussed here:

Yes Le Soir. First time I've ever heard it. Doesn't seem like a session tune.

Le Soir was played around a bit when I was in London.

Of the others, Blue Lou and St Louis Blues are relatively popular

I'll never smile again is a personal fav of mine but the only other guy I've heard calling it was tom baggerman
