Yeah, I'm Vic Wong. I was the guy who asked you if you were "Tennis champ Andreas Oberg".
We met briefly. I was with you in the car when Ted drove us to the festival on Friday or Saturday I believe. I was also the one who kept asking you "hey, who is that guy?" during all the jams where I didn't know all the players. You always seemed to know!
I actually caught that moment when Stochelo handed you the guitar in my recording. I thought it was a very great moment.... like the passing of the torch.
I got a bunch of footage of Eddy playing with Stochelo as well. I just happened to wander into that restaurant for a drink and to my surprise Stochelo and Eddy set up right in front of me! Needless to say, I didn't move from that spot. It was an amazing stroke of luck. It was great to watch stochelo on an electric with all those funny delay effects on it. It reminded me of Babik Reinhardt sessions.
I was surprised to hear that they were using so much delay from the AER amp and when it was my turn to play I thought it was quite fun to play with that 80's sound
After I finished, a unknown guy from Ukraine named Vitali played a few songs of two hand tapping alá Stanley Jordan. I think he played very good and swinging :!:
Brilliant playing from both. Andreas, that harmonic thing you do on Nuages is way too cool.
Also, in light of recent controversy concerning gypsy jazz mp3 blogs, if any artist portreyed on these videos wants me to take them down, just give me the word and I'll take care of it right away.
