Gallato tuner reviews?

Does anyone have experience with the current Gallato tuners? I had a guitar with them years ago, but I can't remember what the quality was like.

Thanks,

Charlie

I think that they are pretty much selmer lookalikes style wise. Functionally they seem to be very well made and have a nice smooth, positive action. That said, I think I bought my most recent Gallato like 5 or 6 years ago so I'm assuming they are the same now. Appear to be very high quality. I have not had to disassemble them though and have not looked at the mechanicals inside the covers.

I have installed the Gallato tuners on many of my last guitars, and the customers love them! They look very close to Original Selmer tuners, and work well

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I wanted to share my recent experience after purchasing some of these tuners based on this discussion (this post still comes up as one of the top results when searching for "Gallato tuners").

A little while ago, I contacted Gallato to ask about the technical specifications of the tuners to see if they would fit my Dupont guitar. He sent me a technical diagram, which I've attached, showing the shafts as 6mm. I double-checked with him because I had seen them listed elsewhere as 7mm. He confirmed again that they would fit.

However, when the tuners arrived, they were indeed 7mm. I reached out to request a return and refund but haven’t received any response.

Additionally, I want to point out that the tuners seem to be of very low quality. They all feel stiff, with inconsistent actuation, except for one, which is so loose that the post rattles. The castings are also rough. Frankly, I wouldn’t feel comfortable installing these on any guitar.

At this point, I’m unsure what to do, as I don’t expect to hear back from Gallato. This might just be an expensive lesson learned (for context, I have Miller tuners on another guitar and love them)

I have played Bones’s guitars with Gallato tuners and they were excellent. I ordered a newer guitar with newer Gallatos and with every tuning received an unwanted full body workout. Tuners were replaced with Millers.

Oh interesting, the Millers are awesome. I was going to get those but he stopped making them. I think AJL has picked up the production of these now which is great.
