It would be very interesting to hear how Django's guitar solos sound on different solo instruments such as trumpet or piano or any other.
Is anyone aware of any recorded examples of note-for-note solo transcriptions played with other instruments?
Or how about any examples where a Django riff or quote is used? Either in the solo, or as thematic material?
I briefly heard one piece of music that was used by a local dance troupe for a performance. It started out with the intro to Minor Swing. It may have been a modern instrumental adaptation of Minor Swing.

Daniel John Martin did one of Django's "Dark Eyes" solos on violin.
He also did "My Melancholy Baby" and "Blues en Mineur" on violin.
Some of his ideas are idiomatic to the guitar and would be tricky on different instruments.

Here's a transcription of Django's 1940 Nuages solo, synced with the original Django recording and with the 1997 note-for-note vocal cover by Manhattan Transfer. (You can switch audio sources at the bottom via "2 recordings" to compare them in real time.)

I've been thinking about doing that for a while.
