Hey Buco- as vanmalmsteen said nice sound and playing👍
You’ve got the lick after that chromatic run spot on too- beautiful. 😄
Regarding my earlier comment that you were unsure of I simply mean to say that there seems to be a certain limit or point to which that kind of practice can take you to- after that it’s just another 1000 reps and go for it? Perhaps another way to hint at what I’m saying is is to ask yourself how will you proceed from where you are now with Choti (in particular that lick as you’ve already got the rest of it!) to getting it to performance speed? Will you continue to take it up in small speed increments? Is that the best way? I ask this as I’ve never tried to learn anything as quick as this before!!??😂
@BrettN thanks man, I appreciate it. It's no problem with me that we intertwine the two topics a little. They have common points. If need be moderator can move the relevant comments over to your thread.
Even at this 75% recording it can be a performance tempo. Plenty of classical waltzes are in this range.
What, I haven't been clear that I don't do little by little, I practice a good while at half my target and then go straight there? Haha, I probably wrote too much and it got lost in the ether. Too many reps can be counterproductive, I've heard. I settled on two minutes, short chunks reps, maybe a few at the time and move on to the next rep.
Ok I'll add this, these two minutes reps have to be perfect, just flawless. If they're not, either slow down so they are or break it into even smaller chunks, make sure the messy part is in the same chunk.

As I've been working through this song it's been kinda on the loop repeat in my head almost all the time. One thing it's becoming clear to me, whatever tempo I hear it in my head, that's the tempo I can comfortably play on the guitar. Yes I can push myself to a higher tempo and kinda sorta do it but it's not comfortable and I'm not in control so to speak.
Hey Buco, interesting you mention that. It's something I've thought about myself for a while. I think you are right. Any idea how to speed it up in one's mind?
Ha, yes how do you do that? A million dollar question. Actually, why do people have that saying? It's the answer that's a million dollars worth.
Anywho... For me it's keep pushing myself, be Ok with being a little stubborn about it, raise the bar way higher than you think you're capable of...etc. I was in the workshop with jazz ace Jonathan Kreisberg and he said "sometimes you have to" and then showed like a self whipping motion.

Hope I haven’t made this all about me….again?😎
Thanks man!
It is Ivanovski, yeah. With some tinkering I got the action very low. Don't know exactly but in the 2mm range. I'll measure today.
Thank you
PS about 3mm low side and 2.5mm high

Nice! I’m going to attempt to work my way up close to 3mm
That's on the bass side. I should put 2.5 as the first number, that's really what the action is.
