At 30€ that was obviously irresistible.

Classic 50s German or Czech style I would think.

    A great addition.

Here's an interesting German guitar for @Willie ! Its a Klaus Röder with an interesting pickguard treatment. Also a bridge/tailpiece arrangement I haven't really seen before. The down angle behind the bridge is pretty sharp. Craftmanship looks first rate.

just gonna say that sound sample sounds kinda what I would expect it to sound like, + being totally out of tune

Just occasionally, a demo of a guitar can put you right off!! What a shame, as I bet it's really quite an interesting instrument and in the right hands (and tuned!!!) it could be great. I bet Smeily Adler would make it sing sweetly.

@billyshakes That little cat eye thing was an accident, I don't buy guitars any more, I swear!

(And fortunately I don't like the design of the Röder.)

@Willie Not to buy, my friend, merely to enjoy the work of a fellow countryman. And yes, that video was not the best. Seemed like they had a good laugh about it, but not the type of music I would have wanted to hear on this guitar.

That guitar design is cool AF and it looks awesome but I think the reason it sounds like that is that bridge design is bizarre and doesn't do anything good. Like combining the worst aspects of a flat top and a selmer with no advantages.

When I brought little cat eye home, I played a few notes to show it to my wife. "Oh, nice!", she said. When I told her that I planned to convert it to a lap steel guitar, she looked at me like "Why?". So I finally put Elixier 0.11 on and loved what it sounded like. Recorded the intro and the first chords of "Jovano, Jovanke" with my cheap mobile phone.

Yes, fretboard is a bit narrow. But it plays o.k., and the sound is quite unique.
