A minor point, but I've just noticed today that my old "José Sanchez, Valencia" gypsy guitar is lightly stamped "Gaillard & Loiselet" in red ink at the top of the label. Another clue that the fictional Sanchez was always a G&L retail brand mark, I reckon. -A-

This is on Ebay right now. Lovely looking guitar and I'm assuming built by Busato. Are the bodies on these Sonora Busatos generally a little thinner than Selmers? Around 9/9.5cm?
My Sanchez 'clef' is 95 mm deep at the tailpiece, 87 mm at the neck joint. I think this eBay guitar is a later(?) 'clef' model, rather different from mine, but probably from the same luthier or workshop. The purfling on the back & sides is much more elaborate, mine is only inlaid on the top.
Me? - I lean towards a Jacobacci connection, as opposed to Busato, for these guitars, but who knows for sure? -A-

@Scoredog Another potential guitar for your student if he/she hasn't found a guitar yet. I'll bet this has a nice, dry aged sound.
Nice spot, @Jangle_Jamie

It's a 13-fret guitar!
I think that's quite common for these. I'd much rather that than a 12 fret join (or an 11.3 fret join like my old Di Mauro Boogie Woogie!)
That was my first thought too haha
I've got a 13-fretter. It's nice. Maybe there's a name for a new band....Triskaidecadjangophobia! Fear not the 13-fret gypsy guitar. ha ha.
Just saw this and "Thank You" but my student already ordered a Cach, from the same 3 batch that Stochelo and Paulus just had delivered.

José Sanchez Valencia is one mark created by Jaccobacci brother for sale to Gaillard & Loiselet, french reseller.
