sorry if i thought u didn't use the technique, it looked a bit different when i saw you play, i hope you didn't take it the wrong way! gypsy picking or not , you're playing is incredible!
while we're at it, what is going on sweden and guitar players? When Phil Woods did a clinic at the university here, he mentionned how everyone in sweden plays 10 times better than the rest of us...
when i see players like you and Gustav and a number of other guitar players (not necessarily jazz), it kinda confirms this idea
is it the water? the food? the women? perhaps i should move to sweden?
Sweden has a lot of great musicians, especially when it comes to mainstream and modern jazz. People here are generally interested in music and every kid gets the chance to learn an instrument at school starting from the age of 9.
Caleb, I forgot to answer your question. There might be some boppy licks in "Gypsy Fire" but I'll save most of them for another book dedicated to Bebop (that might be released later on if the first book is selling OK  )
I`m a jazzguitar-player from Norway, and since you mentioned swedish guitarist, I think you missed one of the best.
Staffan William-Olsson ( the real thing, sharp nine...)
Everybody should check him out. I`m sure you know him Andreas...
Amazing tone and technique....
Inspired by Benson, Martino, Wes, Django etc...
Of course, I know him. He moved from Sweden for more than 15 years ago, so most people consider him being a Norwegian. He is a very good guitarist and a nice guy. Unfortunately, he is not as famous in Sweden as he is in Norway. I saw his concert recently in Stockholm with Sharp Nine and there weren't many people around..too bad, it was a good concert..
Do you know Bjorn-Vidar Solli and the guys from HCdN?
By the way, are you coming by Cosmopolite next weekend?
yeah, most do consider him as a norwegian.
I think the Sharp nine album is great, and I`ve seen them a couple of times. Great songs and arrangements by Staffan.
I`ve only seen Bjørn Vidar Solli a couple of times, he`s really good.
I`m studying music in Kristiansand, so I don`t know if I can make it to Oslo. But I`ll try
By the way, looking forward to your books, especially if you`re gonna write a more boppish book.
