I've been using the 50M for a couple of years and find the biggest drawback is the old school doubters... no one thinks it can handle the task at hand. Sometimes, those doubters have their own gear so I leave mine in the car and just go with the flow (did I mention how it fits in a Mazda sedan?) There is very little to be gained by engaging in conversion therapy prior to playing live 😉
I've found the first four channels have excellent preamps with adequate phantom power (not sure of the specs but they handle every mic I've plugged into it - including Oktava(s), ETL Myrtle, CAD, Marshall pseudo large diaphragm models, etc)
Excellent dispersal, which gives the doubters ammo as the projection does not disrupt their hairpieces. EV speakers have always been transparent and fill the room - that was a main reason I went with this brand over the myriad of other systems out there.
It also seems to be plug 'n' play in that once you tweak for the instruments/room and vibe, it stays ready for action. This expedites the 90 second setup time, LoL!
I have an old iPad that is dedicated to running this (and ForScore) that also makes life simpler.
If I could only convince those doubters: eventually, their system will conk out and they will meekly ask if I can bring my tower.
EDIT: I want to mention the covers - while it is absurd that a system costing this much does not come with a cover, you're better off if you grab one. I bought the slipcase and later decided to also get the rolling cover/case (I put the slipcase on while it is inside the cover/case). The wheels are a bit small but it does help for those gigs with offsite parking.
