Hello, another guitar has caught my attention - a nice looking but well used Di Mauro Boogie Woogie on Ebay. Although I hear people talking favourably about them, I don't ever see them used in jam sessions. Does anyone here have one? Do you play it regularly? How does it sound at jams alongside modern, bright and loud gypsy guitars? This one has very nicely figured back and sides (quilted maple?).

There is a Boogie Woogie on German Ebay for 475 € (and a Heart Hole for 12.345 €) at the moment - which price is charged for the beautiful one you posted?
Yes I saw that Willie, and I've gone through plenty of recordings. I think they all sound pretty good. Just curious to know what owners really think and how often they play them.

Thanks for that Willie. I've just had a look on German Ebay, but don't see the ones you're saying are there. Can you post links? The one I've just bought (yes, yes I know, another guitar!) was £510 including shipping (but there'll be import fees on top of that probably).
I'm a little concerned about the state of the frets, and indeed to fingerboard as a whole. The frets seem a bit wonky and there's a possible twist in the neck. I might be thinking of the worst of course as it's difficult to tell. The seller said it played nicely with a 3.5mm action at the 12th. What do yo think?
Thanks Willie! What a super array of vintage guitars there. I have a suspicion that my Boogie Woogie has had a replacement fingerboard added with some shoddy frets. Worst case scenario is a new fretboard, which would be a shame. I shall report back!
What did the seller say about the twist in the neck? I could just be the headstock, i have seen this a few times, once on a Di Mauro, neck is ok but the headstock is twisted.. . My luthier said that it could be an error in the fabrication process.. . The mystery Sonora-like round-hole guitar I have has a rather twisted headstock too, but the neck is not twisted. It had some heavy gauge strings on it when i got it and only the lower E, A and D strings. I thought this could have caused this twist in the headstock. I don't know yet if/how it should be repaired.. .
The seller said it was playing well, so am hoping it's fine. Thanks for the info re twisted headstocks. It's the wonky looking frets that I didn't notice to begin with, that I'm now worrying about a bit.
I am selling a boogie woogie 1950 sunburst similar to the one above. Will let it go for $2500 if anyone is interested, it's on reverb.
