I've searched here as to not create any more mindless bandwidth then I already am but I haven't really found a clear explanation...not so much how to do it but where EXACTLY does it go? The tail end that is. Does it go where the screw is, modified somehow or below it? If you were to do it that is. :)

I have a 1/4" jack that also serves as a strap button. It is drilled out exactly where that lower screw is so I'm guessing that is your best bet. Should be plenty of wood behind it to support.

Take your pick. But probably just enlarge the bottom screw hole. Install a jack with a pigtail cable while you're at it. Then you took care of both.
