I've searched here as to not create any more mindless bandwidth then I already am but I haven't really found a clear explanation...not so much how to do it but where EXACTLY does it go? The tail end that is. Does it go where the screw is, modified somehow or below it? If you were to do it that is. :)

I have a 1/4" jack that also serves as a strap button. It is drilled out exactly where that lower screw is so I'm guessing that is your best bet. Should be plenty of wood behind it to support.

Take your pick. But probably just enlarge the bottom screw hole. Install a jack with a pigtail cable while you're at it. Then you took care of both.
Excellent y'all, I was hoping that's where you were putting them. Yes, a jack for sure. thanks again for posting.
Mondo--I'm just curious & mean no direspect--are you planning on ever standing up with your GJ guitar? I just ask because it's always interesting to me when I see a GJ guitar with a strap button on it. I'm sure there's footage out there somewhere of a gypsy jazz guitarist standing (the exception that proves the rule, and I'm guessing (hoping?) someone will post an example here), but most GJ guitarists play sitting down and therefore don't need the strap. Of course, if it doubles as a female output for the pickup, it makes more sense to me.
Here’s some evidence that Feigeli Prisor probably plays standing up?
Can’t find any videos of him doing it though.
Hi MIke, yeah I am planning on playing it standing up. For me, the acoustic gigs I play we're standing, we started playing a couple of GJ tunes and I just want to be able to switch to this guitar for a few tunes and keep on keeping on...so not very traditional. I'll probably take it in next week and see what happens. Thanks!
Stephan Wrembel sometimes plays standing up.
I like Feigeli and he always seems to be happy when I've seen him play. I don't think he gets as much "talk" as many of the other European players, but he's great in my book.
I guess he’s put an end pin jack and strap button on the neck of his Holo, and at least an end pin jack on his vintage Busato.

I think it's us who belong to this group, compared to the rest of the guitar playing world. I got lucky to get daytime job playing guitar for the last year and been using the mariachi style strap on my Ivanovski, that hooks to the soundhole. Works great, you just can't let go of the guitar.
