Resurrecting this old thread...it seems more appropriate then starting a new one only to share my experience with a set of strings.

    I tried
    http://www.labella.com/products/gjxl-le/
labella gypsy jazz silk and steel, extra light gauge.
I think I found strings my guitar was made for and vice versa.

Lately I've been using silk and steel and settled on Galli.
And I liked them. A lot. I went with a lighter gauge because even though guitar is louder with 11s (everything that goes to 11 is louder) the tone suffers.
But silk and steel strings gave me the warmer sound I've been searching for over Argentine and similar which sounded too bright on my guitar.

Never heard of Labella before I found them by accident a few weeks ago.
I decided to give them a try and what a difference. They are sort of a cross between Galli 10s and 11s. A bit higher tension in this "extra light" set then I'm used to but the tone is still great.
It is tighter and I lost some of the slack I had with Galli that gave more nasal tone and that sitar sound on some frets especially on G string in general.
But overall it is a very even sound with great tight bass. They are loud but with great headroom, stay clean sounding after you dig in hard. I find when I'm done with practice and decide to put the instrument back in the case I keep strumming the chords and doing a tremolo over chords for a few more minutes just to listen to the sound.
With Galli I used to replace high E with Argie 11 (so my guitar went to 11 after all) but with Labella I don't think I'm going to do that. When I just put the set on, I did use Argie 11 and after about a week replaced it with the E string from Labella set and realized it sounds just as good.

They were also fast to respond to my email when I asked where to get them.
    So there you have it,
    Cheers

Argies 11. I like the tone and seem to last longer than others that I have used (but I have not tried them all)

    I use argie's.
But I used to use the d'addario ones and would love to dabble in others if any body have any suggestions, but i have no complaints about argies.

I am starting to warm to the Galli Gypsy Jazz, medium (11 high E), loop end. Like a prior poster said, the strings and my guitar (US made DA Hommage) seem to be a great match.

I use Argies as well, mainly because I like to mix and match, and use the lighter "purple" D and G strings, with the medium "reds" on the other four. I don't see where we can mix and match Galli's, but I am getting used to the full medium set now.

I like the Galli Silk and Steels, and use them on my backup/travel DA (Music Link) guitar.
