Put the new strings on today, not the Elixier, but D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze. The guy in the shop told me something about patent issues or so to explain why Elixiers are no longer available - maybe they just were out of stock.
Doesn't matter, I love the sound of the D'Addario strings, and although I bought 10s, there is no loss in volume, but kind of more flexibility in styles than with the 11 Agentines I had before. I think the guitar (Altamira M01 f) still can play Gypsy Jazz, but there is less nasality and a subtle "archtop" touch. Maybe I can record something the next days.

Halfway back to the thread:

Those Xs coated strings are popular on mandolin - I've been using them for a while for their good sound a longevity.
A quick recording of a turnaround with my mobile phone, some blues licks might follow soon.
That's your f-hole Altamira? Sounds nice.
Ha, it really does sound like an archtop. Who would've thought. And you give it a nice tone too, Willie.
