    All I can add to this thread is, that My JJ sounds exceptional. It feels and plays great, too. My friend and fellow bandmate Nickola, just received his JJ a few says ago, and loves it.

    I have played many, many, Selmer/Macs (especially when at Samois) and I personally own 5 of them. Park, Dell 'Arte, Dunn, Gallato, and the Gitane JJ. The JJ sounds as good as any of them, and better than most. Thin sounding? Lack of bass response? No way! Full, bright, and powerful.

    I feel that you must have gotten a lemon. The ones I have played are really nice instruments. As with any manufacturing process, sometimes a bad one slips QC. Have it replaced. The chances of getting TWO bad ones in a row are slim.
