Geronimo Mateos was the luthier behind the early (the good) Gallatos.
That's funny I'm sure I've played a gallato 14 fret oval hole and, well it wasn't so good!!, must be the later.

The only thing i don't like about them is the fact that they didn't have a trussrod, but the new Mateos do.
Taking a trip to Paris might be the wisest thing, sample several guitars and you'll find what you're looking for.
