Hello,
first of all i apologize, I know that the beginner gj guitars have been discussed again and again, but i think that my question might be a bit different.
I am a classically trained violinist, broke college student, very beginner gypsy jazz guitarist, in fact very beginner at guitar at all. I am focusing on rhythm at the moment but i would certainly like to work on lead as well.
I have pretty well settled on getting a Cigano Gj-10 or 15. My question is: for my level and prior musical experience, which would be more enjoyable/easier/appropriate to play?
any help would be wonderful,
thank you,
Ian

The GJ15 also tends to have a rounder sound, which is great when playing alone or in a duo. If you are playing with 3-4+ other guitars, the longer scale GJ15 will have a little more "cut."

Did you mean longer scale "GJ-10"?

The 3/4 violin thing kinda confused me because, in classical at least, you almost never see anyone but children playing anything but a full size but i think i know what you mean. If i am correct, playing a gj-10 would almost be like playing a viola strung with violin strings and tuned like a violin?
I guess that is almost exactly what you said, but with different examples.
In any case, all i meant was THANK YOU. That will make the decision easier, as i was really on the fence about which one to buy.
The difference in feel is not as big viola/violin... in fact it's very minimal
i like the oval hole guitar better because it sounds better ... All the D hole ciganos i've tried have a much cheaper sound compared to the oval hole...
I find the oval hole more versatile too with hte extra frets...
