Hi!
Here's a little sound sample ("All of me") of what a cheap gypsy guitar Aria MM-10 (D-hole model) sounds like. Strings area bit worn out argentines (11s).. I raised the bridge a little with small plectrum pieces and dampened the strings behind the bridge with a tape. With these modifications is sounds pretty good to me even though I haven't had the luxury of playing a better gypsy guitar yet. If I had I'd probably say this sounds horrible
I recorded this with Zoom H4 and put a little EQ on it (-8dB on 130Hz) to make the bass a bit lower. The guitar resonates a bit too much around low C-note.

That track is a great example of why it is fortunate that some people specialize in rhythm guitar, in order to avoid this kind of sound.
Thanks for the complement! Maybe I got a bit too excited playing the rhythm part There's so much to learn.. but maybe that's the thing that makes us practise. Did you like the sound at all?
you are a good soloist but i dont think rhythm is your gift atleast not at the moment.
but overall
Quality of instrument: 4/10
Quality of Musician 7/10
keep practicing
You could benefit a lot from Denis Chang's DVDs, all five of them.
Your guitar sounds fine if you get a better one you'll sound even better but i thought it was pretty good.
The good news is that if you can make your Aria sound good that means it comes from your hands and you'll be able to make almost any guitar sound good.

I agree it didn't have a real gypsy jazz sound to it, more of a ragtime type sound, maybe that's the issue. I liked it none the less.
