....that all assumes the video, which I don't have, was of the first time they all played at Upton.
Hi Teddy,
Yes it was. On the original video, Dave Kelbie pretty much explains everything you've just said.
The video was originally filmed by a guy called Barry Taylor. (He also filmed Jimmy Rosenberg at Upton '99, & all the Samois '94 stuff) He was rhythm guitarist in a band i was in called 'Django's Tigers' back in the early 90's, & was also a friend luthier Dave Hodson. He used to run 3 master copies from his video camera, one for himself, one for me, & one for Dave. That's why i thought Dave Hodson was the one most likely to've distributed his copy to other people, & how it ended up in America.
Although i did used to copy all my vids for Pete Dalby, (& vice versa) who in turn i think copied them for people like Cabo. So i suppose there's any number of ways that this stuff ended up in the States.
Since both Barry & Dave have since died, i think i'm the only one with a master copy the Samois '94, & the Jimmy Rosenberg & Angelo stuff, which i recently transferred to dvdr for posterity, along with all the other stuff which you can see on my YouTube channel.
Although i was present at all the Samois stuff up to '97, i never actually made it to any of the Upton festivals.
