I was in San Diego CA for a few days last week, and there was a gypsy jazz event every night!
Dell Arte guitars is also located in the area. Nice little scene. Patrick Berrogain, ****, Hot Club Combo, Daniele Spadavecchia, Gypsy Groove, both Jorgenson and the JIll Martini Soiree were in town for the weekend.
I keep bugging Nick Lehr to replace DFLA in Laguna Beach with Djangofest San Diego, but he really likes Laguna.
Thanks Adrian, nice youtubes you have :-D
It's still quiet difficult for me top play on these O. Marin guitars ( Benoit's guitar on the video) but I'm proud to be in time, what was not my priority before I decided to be a real gipsy player (a few month ago) :-D
Tell me a story guys, I will tell another.
Who are your favorites, do you go far to hear gipsy jazz or is there a good place in your city? Did you meet guys like Gonzalo or Kruno, or french guys? Adrian I already know for you ;-)
Hey Aurelien,
I saw you jamming at La taverne de Cluny a week after Samois, you got a lot of chops! We didn't officially met but I heard you play and liked your style.
You're real lucky to be in Paris, that's the best place to be if you love this music. I was fortunate enough to live there for a while and I try to go to Samois every year. It's just like a dream.
I live in Mexico and the scene here is very small, only a handful of manouche players but I'm giving lessons and passing on what I leaned in France and soon we'll have some weekly jams where at least every one can play a good Pompe and have fun.
Looking forward to seeing you again at the festival.
Best,

Best,
Thank you guys, wish I could have my own CD but it's quiet expensive to make !
So nobody answered my questions :-(
Tomorrow, I will listen to your band Rimm ;-)
Yes, I think Joris and Romain had a gig with Gonzalo then the jam broke loose! Adrien and Benoit were there too and you were playing some kind of thin body electroacoustic.
BTW your playing on that clip from youtube is awesome!
Hope to see you and jam at Samois!
PS The music on my band's myspace is several years old but I'll try to update it soon so you can hear what we sound like these days
