PS The music on my band's myspace is several years old but I'll try to update it soon so you can hear what we sound like these days

Bonjour mon ami - or, bienvenue y'all, as my kinsmen say down in Louisiana!
My family settled in NC after the American Revolution - my ggggggreat grandfather was the Chevalier DuBuysson, one of the French officers who accompanied LaFayette to aid the American cause. As the decades past, we lost our French language and much of our culture, but not our taste for great music and food!
There is very little audience for Gypsy Swing in NC or TN, so I combine my Gypsy picking with country music. I play mainly western swing when I play out. Many folks compare my style to Willie Nelson. However, I do try to play straight gypsy swing whenever possible. That and cooking is how I preserve my French heritage and passion for Gypsy jazz - I also hunt for wild mushrooms and raise culinary snails.
Interesting story you have Judson, thank you for answering me.
I love country music but french people don't really like it, kind of farmer's music they think, but even if, it's f...ing great music !

I live in a tiny town where I'm probably the only person that ever heard of Django, except when I tell them about him. So I pretty much live mine out by myself in my living room with play along CD's and whatever rhythm tracks I record on my little Tascam. Such a sad tale, I know, but hopefully one day soon that will change. Just gotta keep saving those pennies and get out there!
