That descending chord voicing you are asking about starts with the middle four strings (Rocky Gresset version) EMaj (7th fret Root E on A string/like open D chord plus the g# note on D string) and holding the E note on the high B string as you descend to a C#dim, then1/2 step down your lower 3 fingers(holding the E note on higher B string, then the open position E chord we all know!
......You can also higher octave this progression by using the E Maj triad (3 notes) on the 12 fret (3rd, 5th, tonic E) holding again the high E and descending the other two fingers!
