Thanks for your good vibes people!!--i'm going to be refilming some of the tastier licks played really slowly and with right and left hands seperately filmed later this week for some of the french guys who've asked me--if you also want to recieve the private youtube links to this and future videos just subscribe to my channel.
First in a series of 20 of Djangos classic solos played note-for-note--with an emphasis on some of his lesser known masterpieces.Great way of learning correct right and left hand coordination.
First up is "Pour Vous"--which is basically "Exactly Like you" and "Lulu Swing".
Bones, I use a bookmarklet to download YT videos, http://deturl.com/bookmarklet-to-direct ... outube.asp <----- Bookmark this page. Open the youtube video you want, then go to your bookmarks and open the abovein the same window. Up will pop a series of choices on the YT page as to which format etc. you want to download as, and your good to go. You may have to add a format extension at the end of the filename like change 'Anniversary Song' to 'Anniversary Song.flv'

Nice work, Stu. I took a go at this last night. While most of us have access to the original recording, its nice to have video to go along with it and to see your interpretation of the fingering. I'm looking forward to 19 more of these.

Yeah--actually the left hand fingering is dictated by the right hand techinque;thats really the secret of playing the style with good phrasing. What some guys do is change their right hand technique and still use the old left hand fingering-resulting in confusion.
Stu
I sometimes lose sight of the fact that the left hand fingerings influence the picking and vice versa. I'm usually so focused on either one or the other that it doesn't occur to me frequently that the specific fingerings of the phrases and runs speak are directly tied into the picking. I've failed at completely absorbing Gypsy Picking 101.

As a general rule(but with loads of exceptions) 2 notes per string usually is the best way except of course with triplets.

I just downloaded the mp3 of the Stu's video using https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... utube-mp3/ The 'download mp3' button sits on top of the screen beside the 'subscribe' button.
There are extensions for chrome and some standalone sites that will do the same, all free. Let me know if your still having problems.

BTW, thanks for that Red, the mp3 converter is pretty cool. I'll definitely use it.
