If you'd like I could upload one of the tunes from the Bluebird CD and the same tune from the Intégrale and you could compare directly how much better it is.
Just wanted to follow up... I got the Bluebird CD and spent a bunch of time comparing each song to the Integrale version.
My reaction is: WOW! It's really no contest. The Bluebird versions are significantly clearer and don't have hardly any hiss. In comparison, the Integrales are incredibly hissy and sound like they were recorded by pointing a microphone at a phonograph.
Thanks again for the heads up about this CD. I need to try the JSP box set, too, if that has an equal improvement over Integrale.
The JSP box set might be a step down from the Intégrale. It is to my ears, but you should have a listen yourself. It's on Spotify so you can go and listen to how it sounds for free. It removes hiss/noise but the tunes sound a bit strange to my ears. Definately not as good as the Bluebird, but it might be better than the Intégrale to some, especially those who hate the hiss/noise.

Just my 0.02 for those who have got Integrale & are comfortable with a computer:
I experimented with these recordings by converting to MP3 and running some noise reduction on them through Audacity. Instant improvement in clarity! The trick is to not overdo it and leave a bit of noise on to get a sense of the room ambience - especially important on solo pieces where if you cut out all the background noise you get uncomfortable silences.
Cheaper than buying if it's stuff you've already got ...
Sorry Mitch. I don't know their sources. But if you go on Spotify for example, you can hear that they all copy eachother except a few notable exceptions. Most of those exceptions aren't on Spotify. Bluebird Djangology isn't, and the Intégrale isn't. The HMV box set isn't either, which also has very slightly better quality than the Intégrale.
I just wanted to mention how surprised I was when I saw the amount of gypsy jazz stuff on spotify. I've been subscribing to rhapsody and though it had a decent amount to justify subscribing to it along with the rest of it's massive library but I checked out spotify and tried searching out Angelo, Bireli, Stochelo and there is several albums of each while rhapsody might have one or two of each.
It also now has a bluebird djangology album, I just got a cd myself a week ago.
I subscribe to it so I can listen to it on the phone while on a bus or in the car and such.
Figured I'd mention it here since spotify was mentioned instead starting a thread.

Hi all, had been reading the thread and because of all the comments I put Djangology Bluebird version in my Amazon wish list. When checking in to my wish list today they had reduced the price to $6.99 for the CD and you can dowload it FREE after the purchase.
That's a no brainer for me.
CD & digital for $6.99
You may like to check it out.

I just received the Label Ouest 3cd box and found it very well done. I do hear things I never heard before in those recordings among which for example Django’s chords do really jump out full of new unbelivable subtilities

I paid $8.76 for the same thing.
pas encore, j'erre toujours.
Finally the 3 cd set from Bayard Musique - Label Ouest is out. Beautifully remastered like the other records in the series.
