Hello,
Looking to buy my first gipsy jazz guitar, oval hole. After many years of rock, metal, blues, some basic jazz I decided to dedicate myself into this beautiful and fascinating genre.
I am actually looking at three offers on the net, all about used guitars. I hope i'll have the chance to look and try both of them. Which one would you suggest and say have the best value between:
- Dupont Nomade at 650 euros
- Saga Cigano GJ10 at 400 euros
- Gitane DG255 at 540 euros
Also looking to hear many other options i didn't consider from unexperience. Thanks!

Really good deal on that Dupont. Go for that one.
But trying them is always good.
Yeah of the three I would go for the nomade as well.
Nomad all the way - best for resale as well when you outgrow it.
I had a Gitane DG-255 and while it was a beautiful guitar, it had a real overtone problem, probably because of the thick finish. I currently have a Cigano GJ10 and it is a very nice guitar both looks and sound wise, but 400 Euros seems a little bit pricey unless it's in great shape. I think I paid $265 US for a good used one. Not all Ciganos are good ones, best to try before you buy. I know Nomads run a bit cheaper in Europe, and if all is in good condition, that has got to be the way to go. Dupont MD-100s can also be found reasonably priced in France on Le Bon Coin.
The Nomad. As long as it's in good condition. I'd buy it.
Thanks for all your help. Update: The Dupont was sold after contacting, that's so unfortunate!
Should i go for the Cigano?
No, go for @matthewkanis Nomade he has for sale. You've seen the overwhelming support for this instrument on the board here and already received several other opinions to check his out. Great value for the money, you will grow with the guitar, and if you decide it isn't for you, you could probably sell it for more than you paid.
Yep, take the Cigano over the Gitane. Cheaper and better.
I would but my budget is under 800 euros
