If you plan on using a mag pickup for your gigs, you'll be just fine with the Godin. Authentic, aushmentic as they say, whoever they are. If you're trying to shoehorn it in to your quiver and need the forum to support you, you have my blessing.
Littlemark, thanks for your comments. I imagine you're right about it sounding thin & quiet unplugged, but this one has a k & k twin spot pickup installed in it. And unfortunately I wasnt able to open the links you sent.
Lango-django & Jim K, thanks for your encouragement to get it. The guy is bringing it to my gig on Saturday for me to check out. If I like the way it feels & sounds, I'll buy it. I appreciate the suggestion about the magnetic pickup. If the k & k doesn't get me the sound I'm hearing in my head, I suppose I could put one of my krivo djangobuckers on it and try it that way. I'll keep you all posted on it...
There are several models in 5th Avenue lineup. And it sounds like you're looking at the acoustic model without a pickup and I wonder if everyone is talking about the same model... The one you're looking at isn't gonna sound the same like the one with P90 or CW Kingpin or Uptown... They're good guitars overall. You're gonna need a Krivo pickup for what you want to do with it, I don't think those k&k are gonna get you there (though guitar probably sounds decent with them...)
As someone who is in the “blithering idiot“ category when I comes to Krivo, or K&K pickups, Buco, i would appreciate you sharing a little more about the difference in sound between the two...?
Perhaps I might be interested in buying such a pickup at some point..

New guitar, never used, I bought in March, rushing before the virus put us in lockdown, it turned out that I have never played.
Despite the sound is amazing
I was looking for a gypsy guitar, I thought I could use it this hollow body instead, but it doesn't really produce the sound that I was looking for.
Now I m selling it and it makes me sad because I love this guitar, but in order to buy a gypsy jazz guitar I need to sell this one.
I may consider swapping for a Gypsy guitar, the price is firm.

I'll follow your advice here with the 5th Ave--when I try it out this weekend, I'll use my Djangobucker on it, through my trusty Blues Jr. Thanks to all here for your help with this.
Reading through this thread has made me wonder what something like an Aria Howard Roberts would sound like if you put Argentines and a Stimer on the guitar.
