Yeah I got into him through my love of Cassandra Wilsons' early albums. Which helped push the boundaries of what I listen to. Particularly his acoustic playing although you can't always differentiate. Ornate Coleman once told him: "play the idea not the instrument"
Lots of greats listed on a lot of these inputs. One player I just noted was missing is Emily Remler. Any thoughts on her? I find her story tragic, but her playing sweet and swinging.

Emmet Ray is a very overrated player. I saw him live once- he was rubbish!
I heard he gave it all up to go into pest control. He always liked to be shooting at those rats.
