it's not like a dragon sitting on gold, it's more like christians with the shroud of turin.
Not sure I understand the reference you are trying to make here. There was no record of the Shroud of Turin until the 1300's. So was it truly stashed away for 1000+ years, kept in secret by a small cohort of true believers, until some 50th generation relative needed the money? Or was it just a fake like most of these religious relics from the era. Sold to some rich lord with more money than sense? In fact, I think they've even carbon dated it to that same time (1300s). As Wim says, Occam's razor?
So, no doubt you saw something. Maybe it too was a fake? I wonder in 5-10 years time if AI will be able to generate fake video clips as well? Could it even generate a fake Django solo that has never been heard? Will we be able to go into the Pla Mor Ballroom as an immersive experience and see Django play with Duke? And would that world be color or black & white (or sepia?). Or maybe you could go back to your younger self and tell him to record the video you saw. However, a 2004 cell phone camera would be about as good of resolution as a Bigfoot film. So then we'd all still be sitting around debating about the authenticity of it. Ha! Plus ca change....
Good luck on your quest to find your answers, Rip. I look forward to seeing the video when you find it!
Deepfakes would be fun- given AI's tendency to give people the wrong number of fingers, or mangle and deform them, it might get Django just right 😄
In seriousness making this stuff needs a tonne of training data. So we might see good Django photos faked, or even audio fakes in the near future, but generated convincing video is probably a long way off.
Thanks billy. I hope to see it again, but until then it looks like this whole thing is in the Bigfoot category. Thanks for the back and forth, I guess I needed to get it off my chest.
I agree with your points, Stu. There could be a several legitimate reasons why footage might not be shared. To me it’s not a stretch to see how secret Django footage exists, especially since I’ve seen it. Like I said in the beginning of the thread, I respect everyone’s free will and if they don’t want to release it, so be it. I will simply want encourage them to consider how the world might be a better place if the released it. It’s my opinion that the world would be a better place if the footage was released. Watching Django brings joy.

Or maybe it is like Jurassic Park. But instead of filling in the gaps with frog DNA, they insert Fapy or Baro licks to help train the model?

keep swinging!
Lol, I want to see Django play Belleville in a puffy Gucci jacket with sunglasses.
Can AI make me a better player?

Stu, what is “more spectacular” than Django? UFO’s, Atlantis, inner earth.
