Thanks, that fits with the Django Station page (not sure why Matelo's names is mentioned in the first link I posted, maybe as composer or just an error).
He is on this four track EP by Antoine Ciosi from my collection of French vinyl. It does not have a date, just the note on the back "avec le participation du guitarist gitan Matelot Ferret".
Yes, there are 2 tracks on the LP "Super Festival Dancing No. 14" Columbia 33 FSX 108". "Trop de joie" is not mentioned on the LP sleeve, but it is on the vinyl. Jon Larsen also forgot this tune on his reissue CD.
Matelot made a number of recordings with french singer Robert Ripa, the most known one is the EP "Fanny". This one includes the fabulous "Lorsque Django jouait" with Stéphane Grappelli on violin. http://www.djangostation.com/Lorsque-Django-jouait,753.html
The other ones are
"Robert Ripa chante "Le Bidon" du Film "Il Bidone" et "le petit bistrot de papa" Disques Vogue EPL 7.252 and
