Seemed like they tap on beat one?
Funny, that shot seems intentional, with their bare feet and a rug underneath. Nice performance, I enjoyed watching/listening.
I think you'd tap on certain beats to give you a different feel when playing and especially soloing over a song. You'd sort of force yourself to either swing more or be right on the beat during your solos when taping on beats 2/4 or 1/3 respectively.
