Don't judge it immediately, give it a week or so. That's about how long it took me to realize the difference for the better.
But then I did a blind test with a friend where a friend was playing turned away from me and me listening and I picked out blue chip as my favorite tone among 5 or so other picks, all the usual GJ suspects.
I was the same way when I got my first blue chip. I thought "this is it?" For some reason I kept using it and I don't know maybe my technique adapted to it but very quickly I realized how good a pick it was
D'Andrea Pro Plec Rounded Triangle Picks One Dozen Shell 1.5MM $6.99
If theres a Guitar Center in your town I think they ship free to the store.
At that price if you don't like them you can toss them into the crowd at the nights end.

Very similar to what I've been using for a long time. In fact I've played the same Blue Chip CT55 (about 1.4 mm) for the last three years (Bluegrass flat picking and GJ) without ANY sign of wear.
I've had the same Bluechip CT55 for 3 years also got a TAD60 Bluechip.
The TAD60 and the Pro Plec 1.5 are so close. Same size and Shape. As I said in my first post above I do hand bevel the Pro Plec, but at $.60 a pick it's a Steal.
I've seen Golden Gate one before but not the others.
I'm curious, anyone played with these?
Started using Golden Gates over 10 years ago they were my Favorite Mandolin pick. I believe they were modeled or Knock off's of the DAWG David Grisman picks. Very Similar. Had a stash of the Golden Gates and tried making Gypsy Jazz Picks by super glueing 3 together, you can actually fill the edge voids with superglue. Went for the high dollar Wegen after the not so successful results. My Wegen Love was short lived after trying Bluechips.
I just did a A = Bluechip, B = ProPlec, C Golden Gate, playing comparison today.
The A = Bluechip, and B = ProPlec, to close to call.
C Golden Gate, darker and not as loud.
