I don't think that you can call it whining when what's going on here is essentially stealing other people's livelihoods. Michael has worked amazingly hard to bring this music and its techniques legitimately to people. He's scraping by as it is, but you're offering his stuff for free? And this applies to the other artists as well. All the stuff about believing the music industry propoganda may be true in the abstract, but in reality, it sounds like a very weak justification for piracy. I don't know what your motives are, but I do know what they're not: pure.

It's good to hear someone is actually standing up to people like this. It seems like people don't expect real life consquences for their internet actions.. Give him hell, it's not like you didn't warn him..

Unbelievable! This idiot obviously has no idea of Michael's huge rep in the community-in one way I almost hope (now that you know who they are) that they didn't get the book from you originally; that would be too damn sad.

Michael, I hope your lawyer has some legal means of getting the file removed from the storage site as well instead of just getting the blog to remove the link or shut down. Good luck with it all!

My lawyer took care of it....the files are down. We now have the names and IP numbers of the bloggers and all the people who downloaded the book. We'll be prosecuting those who downloaded the book. If you did so, I suggest you buy a legitimate copy, as we'll be inclined not to prosecute you. Strangely, some people who downloaded the book already owned it!??

Thanks for the support everyone! It's really a drag when people do malicious stuff like this.

If I were you I wouldn't be too zealous about prosecuting those who downloaded the book - I am sure that some (like me) were simply curious to see exactly how much was being made available. Although I never finished downloading it....

I actually thought that was a joke about Gypsy Picking being up there - at first. The guy seems to be motivated by a genuine desire to wreck the scene, as small as it is. And his critique is mere trolling as well. I bet he's about 16 and living with his folks....
